There are many reasons to shop in person this holiday season. Some major national retailers at Champlain Centre are only accessible in person, with deals and products available only in stores, including Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, and Ross Dress for Less, which just opened last month.
Shopping in person supports locally owned businesses. Did you know that over half of the stores at Champlain Centre are locally owned and operated, including The Willows, Rawson Family Pianos, Nupera, Bookburgh, Eyebrow & Beauty Care, DND Salon, Relax Spa, Lake City Hobbies, Nineties Nails, Bazaar Trader, China Café, and more?
In addition, several new locally owned shops and venues have opened just in the past year alone, including Flora Belle Boutique – a female-owned enterprise launched by a recent SUNY Plattsburgh graduate, presenting a curated collection of home décor accessories, gift items, clothing, stationery, and exclusive products sourced from eco-friendly, environmentally sustainable companies; Lake City Sports Club – offering indoor batting cages, golf simulators, professional coaching instruction, and more; Lunimomo – an impossibly cute shop featuring a variety of classic candies, trendy drinks like Pokémon Sparkling Water, exotic treats, unique snacks from around the world, and mystery subscription boxes; Alyza’s Chicken Gyro, serving authentic NYC street cart gyros, pitas, falafels, wraps, and fresh cut fries, along with their famous Halal white sauce.
A handful of stores are at Champlain Centre for a limited time only over the holiday season, including Just Cozy – a Canadian-based retailer with a wide assortment hats, mittens, scarves, slippers, and leggings in a range of sizes and styles that are made with a focus on quality, comfort, coziness, and affordability; Bohemian Roots – offering handmade ponchos, blankets, jewelry, and wood-carved statues from Ecuador; Go! Calendars Toys & Games – the nation’s largest pop-up operator for seasonal games, toys, puzzles, and of course, calendars; and the Christmas Ornaments cart – a perennial favorite stop for personalized ornaments and customized holiday décor items.
Shopping in person gives you the opportunity to see and feel the quality and size of a product in real life before purchasing, so you won’t be disappointed when that cute little chair you ordered online for your child’s bedroom turns out to be made for a dollhouse, or surprised when the “leather” bag you bought as a gift for your sister arrives and is made of cheap-looking vinyl. In-person shopping ensures hassle-free returns without the need for repackaging, printing shipping labels, or enduring days of waiting for a refund. Say farewell to minimum purchase requirements, sizing uncertainties, color/material guesswork, and shipping fees – make your holiday shopping a delightful and stress-free experience!
Be sure to support local stores, which are vital to a thriving community, by shopping in person on Black Friday and throughout the holiday season!
