Champlain Centre is shining a spotlight on our local small businesses leading up to Shop Small Saturday on November 27th. We are pleased to introduce you to April Bates, the owner of Peace by Piece boutique.

Peace by Piece is located next to Old Navy in Champlain Centre.  The store offers trendy women’s clothing and accessories. Peace by Piece features products from women-owned businesses.

April is a lifelong Plattsburgh resident. As a busy mother of two, she saw a niche in the market that her store could help fill. She wanted a shop that featured products that could not be found online.

When asked why she chose the mall as a home for her new business  April said “I love the community in our mall, & felt the opportunity for the browsing, fun, not rushed shopping experience was best had inside of our mall. Get a pretzel, Starbucks from Target, kids at the bounce house & come get a new outfit head to toe.”

April enjoys putting together easy to work with outfits, that enhance all bodies, & improve confidence. She proudly carries all sizes from XS-XXL, & 1x-6x. April believes it is important to carry all sizes as “one-piece can be worn differently several ways, by several people”.
